Dealing with copyright concerns regarding videos that belong to someone else is crucial to avoid legal repercussions. As Merjek, we're not taking any responsibility with copyright issues of the content. On the other hand, here are some steps you can take to address this issue responsibly:
Contact the owner of the video and seek permission to use it. This can be done through direct communication or by checking if the video is licensed for public use through platforms like Creative Commons.
If the video is available for licensing, consider purchasing a license that grants you the right to use it legally. Be sure to review the terms and conditions of the license to ensure compliance.
Look for videos that are labeled as "royalty-free" or "public domain." These videos typically do not require permission for use, although it's still important to verify the usage rights.
If you're allowed to use the video with attribution, be sure to credit the source properly. Include the name of the owner and a link to the original video whenever possible.
Whenever feasible, opt to create your own videos or use content that you have the rights to. This eliminates the risk of copyright infringement and ensures that your content is unique.
If you're unsure about the copyright status of a video or how to proceed, consider consulting with a legal professional who specializes in intellectual property law.
By following these guidelines, you can mitigate the risk of copyright infringement and demonstrate respect for the rights of content creators.
You don't have to sign in to make your gif or video clip. However, signing in has the following advantages:
1-) Your output gif or video clip won't have any Merjek logo.
2-) You can email your output files that are 20MB or less.
3-) You can provide feedback per output.
In the near future, we'll add new features that will be available to signed users only.
